AI Data Annotation Specialist, English

The models people use every day were shaped by human judgement at scale, and that judgement has to come from somewhere. This is where. You will annotate, label and evaluate the data that determines how AI systems behave, on programmes run for clients including major model developers.

Fully remote anywhere in Canada, flexible hours, minimum twenty-five hours weekly. No prior AI experience required. What is required is care, and most people underestimate how demanding that is over a long shift.

Annotate and label English text, image, audio and multimodal data to detailed project guidelines. Evaluate and rank model outputs on accuracy, helpfulness, safety and tone. Write and correct reference responses where a task requires it. Identify harmful, biased or factually incorrect model output and categorise it according to the programme's taxonomy. Transcribe and verify audio including accented and conversational speech. Flag guideline ambiguity rather than resolving it silently. Maintain inter-annotator agreement above the programme threshold and act on quality feedback.

English at C2, with strong reading comprehension and clear written expression. Excellent attention to detail sustained over time. Sound judgement on ambiguous cases and the ability to write down why you decided as you did. Reliable internet and a computer. Availability for at least twenty-five hours weekly within agreed windows. Legal entitlement to work in Canada.

A postsecondary degree in any field. Prior annotation, editorial, teaching, research, translation or quality assurance experience. Subject depth in any specialised domain, since specialist programmes pay at higher tiers. A second language.
