Cloud and infrastructure

Corpshore Canada delivers cloud migration and management, DevOps, site reliability engineering and infrastructure operations from Canada. Environments are built for resilience and cost control, with data residency configured to your requirement, including Canadian-only where a public sector buyer asks.

Cloud spend is the line item that grows faster than anyone plans for, and the resilience it is supposed to buy is often assumed rather than tested. Corpshore Canada delivers cloud migration and management, DevOps, site reliability engineering and infrastructure operations from Canadian pods, in your time zone, at 35 to 55 percent of the cost of equivalent in-house Canadian hiring. We build environments for resilience and cost control rather than for a diagram, and we treat both as measurable outcomes. Data residency is configured to your requirement including Canadian-only hosting where a public sector buyer asks, and where work is supported from outside Canada the position is documented before go-live. For United States buyers the pod runs on-call and change windows in your working hours rather than a distant time zone.

How the service works

  1. 1

    Assessment and landing zone design

We assess the current estate, the spend and the operational pain, then design a landing zone with identity, network and guardrails set before workloads move. Cost, security and residency are treated as design inputs rather than afterthoughts, so the account structure and tagging make spend legible from day one. The output is a migration plan sequenced by risk rather than by convenience.

  2. 2

    Migration and automation

Workloads move on a plan that favours incremental migration over a single cutover, with infrastructure defined as code so environments are reproducible rather than hand-built. We automate the provisioning, the pipelines and the guardrails as we go, so what we migrate is also what we can rebuild. Nothing production-facing moves without a tested rollback.

  3. 3

    Reliability engineering

We instrument the environment for observability, define service level objectives with you and build the alerting, runbooks and on-call practice that turn an incident into a procedure rather than a scramble. Capacity, backup and disaster recovery are tested rather than assumed. The aim is a lower time to restore service, not a dashboard that looks calm until it does not.

  4. 4

    Operate and optimise

In steady state the pod runs the platform and reduces its cost at the same time, retiring idle capacity, right-sizing workloads and removing the manual steps that make changes risky. Cost and reliability are reported together so a saving is never taken at the expense of resilience. Governance runs on an agreed cadence with change and incident review built in.

How we deliver it from Canada

Delivery is from Canadian pods in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, in English and Canadian French, with on-call and change windows run in your working hours across Eastern, Central and Mountain time. We work in your cloud accounts and tooling rather than ours, so access, audit and billing stay under your control. Data residency is configured to your requirement including Canadian-only regions where a public sector buyer asks.

Squad, 3 to 5 engineers

A focused platform pod under a lead, suited to a migration or a defined reliability programme, with infrastructure as code and observability built in from the start.

Managed platform, 6 to 12

A platform and site reliability team with a delivery lead, an on-call rotation in your hours and defined service level objectives reported against.

Practice, 12 and above

A cloud practice with an engineering manager, cross-account standards and a blended Canadian and distributed follow-the-sun model where continuous coverage justifies it.

Compliance and data handling

Cloud operations comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act by default, with Quebec Law 25 requirements applied where personal information of Quebec residents is stored or processed. Security controls follow the relevant group framework, with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 readiness supported where the business requires it and certification scope confirmed on request. Data residency, encryption and cross-border transfer positions are documented explicitly wherever any part of the environment is supported from outside Canada.

Technology

We work in your cloud rather than steering you to one we prefer, across the major public cloud platforms, container orchestration, infrastructure as code and CI/CD tooling. Observability, secrets management and policy as code are standard parts of the build. Specific platform depth is confirmed against your requirement during assessment, and where you lack a capability we integrate proven tooling under your governance rather than introducing a dependency you cannot own.

How performance is measured

  • Service availability against agreed objectives
  • Time to restore service after an incident
  • Change failure rate on infrastructure changes
  • Cloud cost against budget and per unit of workload
  • Backup and disaster recovery test success rate

Reporting pairs reliability and cost in one view, on an agreed cadence, with an incident and change review that explains what happened and what changed rather than listing tickets. Where spend or risk is trending the wrong way we bring it to you with the cause and a recommendation, so a cost overrun or a reliability drift is a decision rather than a surprise at the invoice.

Where this applies

Technology and SaaS

Platform engineering and site reliability for software companies whose growth is outrunning their infrastructure, with cost control and uptime treated as the same problem.

Government and public sector

Cloud migration and operations with Canadian-only data residency where the mandate requires it, and audit and change control appropriate to a regulated estate.

Energy and natural resources

Resilient infrastructure and disaster recovery for distributed operations across Alberta and western Canada, run and supported in Mountain time.

Pricing and engagement models

Cloud work is priced as a project for a defined migration or build, a managed platform service with agreed service levels, or staff augmentation into your existing platform team. A project suits a bounded migration; a managed service suits an environment that has to run and stay optimised; augmentation suits a specific skills gap. We separate our fee from your cloud spend so a saving on the bill is visible and yours.

Frequently asked questions

Can you migrate us to the cloud without downtime?

For most workloads yes, by migrating incrementally behind tested rollback rather than in a single cutover. We sequence the plan by risk, move the low-risk workloads first to prove the pattern, and keep a tested path back for anything customer-facing. Where a short maintenance window is genuinely unavoidable we agree it in advance rather than discovering it during the move.

How do you control cloud cost?

Cost is a design input, not a cleanup exercise. We set account structure and tagging so spend is legible, right-size workloads, retire idle capacity and report cost per unit of workload rather than a single monthly figure. Our fee is separate from your cloud bill, so every dollar we save on the bill stays with you.

Where will our data and infrastructure sit?

Data residency is configured to your requirement, including Canadian-only cloud regions where a public sector buyer or your own policy requires it. Encryption, key management and access follow your standards, and where any part of the environment is supported from outside Canada the cross-border position is documented before go-live rather than assumed.

Do you run on-call in our time zone?

Yes. On-call rotations and change windows run in your working hours across Eastern, Central and Mountain time, so an incident is handled by someone awake and available rather than escalated overnight. Where you need continuous coverage we add a distributed follow-the-sun tier under the same runbooks and the same governance.

How do you prove the environment is resilient?

By testing it rather than asserting it. We define service level objectives with you, run disaster recovery and backup restore tests on a schedule, and report the results. Resilience that has never been exercised is a hope, so we treat a failed or skipped recovery test as an incident in its own right rather than a box left unticked.

Can you work with our existing DevOps team?

Yes. We augment your platform team inside your accounts and tooling, adopt your standards and hand back reproducible infrastructure as code rather than a private setup only we understand. The intent is to raise the capability of your own operation, not to make you dependent on ours to run the platform you paid for.
