Careers questions, answered straight
The questions candidates actually ask, answered honestly. Work authorization, experience, French, shifts, equipment, timing and applying from anywhere in Canada.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be authorized to work in Canada?
Yes. You must have the legal right to work in Canada for any of our roles, whether that is citizenship, permanent residence or a valid work permit that covers the position. We hire in Canada for work done in Canada and we do not sponsor positions outside the country. If you are unsure whether your permit covers a role, ask the recruiter early.
Do I need previous experience?
Not for many roles. Most entry customer experience and back office positions are open to people without prior contact centre experience, because we provide paid training. What we look for is reliability, care about the customer and a willingness to be coached. Specialist, IT and leadership roles do ask for relevant experience, and the posting will say so.
Is French genuinely required, or is it just preferred?
It depends on the role, and we are honest about which is which. Many roles are English only. Bilingual roles genuinely need French, and several leadership roles require French at C1 because you have to coach and escalate in it. English only roles will not be gated on French. The posting states the real requirement rather than a vague preference.
How good does my French have to be?
As good as the role actually needs, no more and no less. A conversational service role needs conversational French. A leadership role on a bilingual account often needs C1. We assess French at the level the job requires during hiring, in speaking and writing, so you know exactly where you stand rather than guessing.
What are the shift patterns like?
They vary by account. Some run standard business hours, others cover extended or around the clock windows. Shifts are published in advance so you can plan your life, and the posting tells you the pattern before you apply. We schedule for coverage and for people, and we do not change your pattern without notice.
Can I choose my shift?
Within limits. We build schedules around the account's coverage needs first, then accommodate preferences and availability as far as we can. Tell your recruiter your real constraints up front. It is far better to set expectations before you start than to discover a clash after.
Is the work onsite, hybrid or remote?
It depends on the role. Many customer experience roles run onsite or hybrid from our operations in Ontario, Quebec or Alberta. Much of the AI annotation work and some specialist roles run fully remote across Canada. Every posting states its work mode before you apply, and we do not switch it after you sign.
Can I apply from a different province?
For remote roles, often yes. Remote postings state which provinces they can hire in, because employment standards and tax are provincial. Onsite and hybrid roles are tied to our operations in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta. If a role is remote and open in your province, your location is not a barrier.
What equipment do I need for a remote role?
Remote roles come with company-provisioned equipment and secure access appropriate to the account. You are expected to provide a private, quiet workspace and a reliable internet connection. Specific requirements are set out for each role. The security expectations for remote work are firm, because they are what allow this work to be done from home.
How long does the hiring process take?
For most operational roles, two to four weeks from application to offer. It is faster when we are staffing a new account and slower for senior roles with more stages. The biggest variable is scheduling, so replying quickly to your recruiter is the best way to keep things moving.
What are the stages of the process?
Application review, a recruiter screen, a role assessment, a hiring manager interview, a final conversation for some senior roles, then an offer and paid onboarding. Not every role has every stage. The hiring process page describes each one and its typical timing in detail.
Will I hear back if I am not selected?
We aim to respond either way, and to tell you where you stand at each stage rather than leaving you guessing. If you are not right for the role you applied to but could fit a future one, we may point you to the talent community so we can reach you when something opens.
Is there paid training?
Yes. New hires begin with paid onboarding and role training before taking live work. You learn the client, the systems and the standard with support around you. Nobody goes live on a hard account cold, because that is how good people are lost and clients let down.
What benefits do you offer?
Four are confirmed across our roles: group health and dental benefits, RRSP participation, an annual professional development budget and funded professional certification. We list only what we can stand behind. The benefits and wellbeing page describes each one. We do not pad the list with perks we cannot confirm.
Is there room to grow, or is this a dead end?
There is a real path, and it is the main reason to start here. Team leads, quality analysts, trainers, workforce planners and operations managers overwhelmingly come up from the floor. From an entry seat you can reach team lead, operations and eventually account direction, or move laterally into IT and AI delivery. The career paths page maps it out.
How does bilingualism help my career?
Bilingual English and French people are the scarcest resource in Canadian BPO, and that scarcity works for you. Bilingual roles open more doors, several leadership roles require French at C1, and Canadian French annotation programmes pay premium rates. The bilingual careers page explains what your French is worth here in concrete terms.
Do you hire students and recent graduates?
Yes. We offer co-op terms, internships and graduate entry across customer experience, IT and AI delivery. Co-op is a serious pipeline for us, and a strong term is often the shortest route to a permanent offer. The students and graduates page has the detail.
Where are your operations located?
Our head office is in Toronto, and our Canadian operations are anchored in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, with remote roles across the country. Corpshore Canada is the Canadian operation of Corpshore Solutions Corporation. Toronto is a head office, not a sales front, so the people who answer for the work are here.
How is my personal data handled when I apply?
Your application data is processed for recruitment under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and, for Quebec, Law 25. It is used to assess you for roles and kept under our retention practices. You can ask what we hold and request correction or deletion. Protecting data is central to how we operate, including our own hiring.
What is the talent community, and should I join?
It is a way to stay in reach when nothing fits right now. You share your interests and languages, and we contact you when a matching role opens. Join it if you do not see the right posting today. If a current role fits, apply to it directly on the jobs board instead.
Can I apply to more than one role?
Yes, if you genuinely fit more than one. It is better to apply to the roles that match your experience and languages than to apply to everything. If you are unsure which fits best, a recruiter can help you focus on the strongest match after the first conversation.
I have a disability or need an accommodation. What should I do?
Tell us. We provide accommodations through the hiring process and on the job in line with Canadian accessibility and human rights law. Let your recruiter know what you need and we will arrange it. Asking for an accommodation does not count against you in any way.
My question is not answered here.
Write to careers@corpshore.ca and a member of the team will help. It is the same address behind the talent community, so you will reach a person who knows our roles and can point you to the right next step.
