The hiring process, stage by stage
No black box. Here is every stage between your application and your first day, what happens in each and roughly how long it takes, so you can plan and prepare.
Every stage, and how long it takes
- 1
Application review
2 to 5 business daysA recruiter reads your application against the role. We aim to respond either way inside a week. If your profile fits now we move you forward. If it fits a future role we may suggest the talent community so we can reach you when something opens.
- 2
Recruiter screen
20 to 30 minutes, by phone or videoA short conversation about your background, what you are looking for, availability and salary expectations. For bilingual roles this is where we do a first language check, in the language the role needs. It is a two way call. Bring your questions.
- 3
Role assessment
30 to 60 minutes, timing varies by roleA practical check of the skills the job actually uses. For customer experience that may be a written or spoken scenario and a formal language assessment. For IT and AI roles it is a technical or annotation exercise. We test what the work needs, not trivia.
- 4
Hiring manager interview
45 to 60 minutesYou meet the person who would manage you or an operations lead for the account. This covers how you handle real situations, how you take coaching and how you fit the team. It is also your best chance to understand the account, the shift pattern and the path from it.
- 5
Final conversation
Some roles onlyFor leadership and specialist roles there is often a final conversation on values and scope, sometimes with a senior operations leader. Many entry roles do not have this stage. If it applies to your role the recruiter will tell you up front.
- 6
Offer and checks
A few business daysWe make an offer in writing setting out the role, the pay, the shift pattern, the location or work mode and the confirmed benefits. Offers are conditional on standard background and reference checks appropriate to the account, and on your right to work in Canada.
- 7
Onboarding and paid training
Starts on your first dayYou begin with paid onboarding and role training before you take live work. You learn the client, the systems and the standard with support around you. Nobody goes live on a hard account cold. This is where a Corpshore start earns its keep.
How long the whole thing takes
For most operational roles the full process runs two to four weeks from application to offer, faster when we are staffing a new account and slower for senior roles with more stages. The single biggest variable is scheduling, so replying quickly to a recruiter is the best way to keep your process moving.
What we expect from you, and what you can expect from us
We expect straight answers, including about availability and salary, because guessing wastes everyone's time. We expect you to bring questions, because the best hires interview us as hard as we interview them. In return we commit to telling you where you stand at each stage rather than leaving you guessing, and to being honest about the shift pattern and the work before you sign.
How to prepare
You do not need to over-prepare, but a little goes a long way. Read the posting closely so you know the work mode, the shift pattern and the language requirement before the first call. Have your real availability clear in your head. If the role is bilingual, be ready to switch languages naturally, because that is exactly what the assessment checks.
For the interview, think of a couple of real situations where you handled a difficult customer, a mistake or a tight deadline, and be ready to talk through what you actually did. We are not looking for polished answers, we are looking for how you think and whether you take responsibility. Bring questions of your own about the account, the team and the path from the role.
After you accept
Accepting the offer is the start, not the finish. You move into paid onboarding, where you learn the client, the systems and the standard before you take any live work. Your first weeks are supported, and you are not measured against a seasoned agent from day one. The point of that ramp is simple. We would rather bring you up properly than throw you in and lose you, and the training is built around that.
