Most call centre briefs start as one of two things and quickly become both. Inbound is the work customers start: support, order and account questions, billing, scheduling and the escalations that decide whether someone stays a customer. Outbound is the work you start: sales and lead qualification, appointment setting, collections, retention saves and follow-up. A mature programme usually blends the two, because the same customer who calls in with a problem is the one an outbound retention call keeps. We staff and measure for the blend rather than pretending a contact centre is only ever one direction.
Service à la clientèle entrant
Voice, email, chat, SMS and social handled to your service levels, with first contact resolution and time to resolve as the headline metrics, in both official languages.
Soutien technique et centre de services
Tier one and tier two support inside your ticketing and telephony tools, measured on resolution rather than handle time, bilingually from Canadian sites.
Vente sortante et fidélisation
Lead qualification, appointment setting, win-back and retention, measured on qualified pipeline and revenue, and run inside Canadian anti-spam and telemarketing rules.
Recouvrement et relances
Early-stage collections and payment follow-up handled with the tone and compliance posture the work demands, not a boiler-room script.
Fully loaded onshore delivery in the United States and Canada runs at roughly USD 25 to 45 per agent hour in 2026, covering wages, supervision, the dialer, quality assurance and basic compliance (Helpware, Call Center Outsourcing Cost, 2026). Canadian delivery typically lands below comparable US rates, helped by the exchange rate and lower employer healthcare costs (Callin.io, Call Center Outsourcing Canada, 2025). Offshore hubs sit well under both, and we run those hubs ourselves, so when we say offshore is cheaper on high-volume repeatable calling we are describing our own price sheet, not a competitor's.
The honest figure we stand behind is the saving against building the same team in-house. Against an in-house Canadian contact centre, clients typically see cost reductions of 40 to 75 percent once the full employer burden is counted: statutory contributions, benefits, workspace, telephony, quality tooling, management overhead and the cost of attrition. The saving is real because it removes all of that, not because the wage is low. For the exact numbers on your volume and channel mix, the cost calculator and the outsourcing cost guide build the comparison on real roles.
Bilingue par défaut, non bilingue sur demande
Canada's bilingual character is the reason many organisations outsource here rather than offshore, and it is the place a lot of providers quietly fall short. A genuinely bilingual call centre is not English-first with French routed to a handful of agents when a Quebec customer insists. Our agents are hired to a Canadian French standard and calibrated by Quebec French quality analysts, so a Quebec caller reaches someone who sounds local and every language queue carries identical service levels. For a federal department, a national bank or any business serving Quebec, that is a compliance and reputation requirement, not a nicety.
For United States buyers the accent question runs the other way and lands just as well. Canadian English is close to General American, so a US customer on a call with a Canadian agent usually cannot tell they have crossed a border, and the time zone overlaps the entire continental US working day. That combination, matching accent and same-day overlap, is what a distant offshore hub cannot offer and what makes Canada a strong nearshore contact centre for US brands.
Canada is a premium nearshore option and it is not right for every call. High-volume, script-driven, round-the-clock calling judged only on the lowest hourly rate belongs offshore, and routing it to Canada is spending money to solve a problem you do not have. Canada earns its cost on the calls where being close, compliant and culturally aligned changes the outcome: regulated support, judgment-heavy escalations, brand-facing voice and genuinely bilingual service.
The sharpest answer for most buyers is a blend under one contract. A Canadian core team carries the work that has to be close and compliant, with global-network capacity in Manila as the primary hub, or Bogota, Santo Domingo, London or New York, carrying the high-volume overnight work that does not. One account team and one governance framework span both, so you get offshore economics where they apply and Canadian delivery where it counts, without managing two vendors. We will tell you honestly which calls belong where, including the ones that should not come to Canada at all.
